Sr. Planning and Hydraulic Modeling Engineer

What We're Looking For:
Serves as a technical lead in flow monitoring, hydraulic modeling, planning and asset management with understanding of advanced concepts, principles, and methods. Keeps informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization and/or clients for the purpose of recommending changes in programs or applications. Works on multiple major projects with complex features as a technical lead.

Responsibilities:
  • Leading the technical aspects of flow monitoring programs and data analytics
  • Leading the technical aspects of water and wastewater modelling and planning studies
  • Mentoring junior water and wastewater modeling and planning engineers
  • Capability to check and review work of others to provide quality assurance and drive continuous improvement in work delivered to the client
  • Interest in developing innovative and digital approaches to modelling, and ability to rapidly learn new technologies.
  • Presenting at regional/national conferences as appropriate
  • Publishing articles in regional trade publications of strategic importance
  • Engaging in pursuits to make sure they are technically sound and contribute to writing proposals
  • Reviewing work of others to provide quality assurance and drive continuous improvement in work delivered to the client
  • Working directly with our clients in resolving their challenges associated with growth, development, and asset management.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of asset management practice goals and objectives.
  • Assisting in the development of engineering standards that reduce asset life cycle costs
  • Providing asset management tools; developing processes and procedures to capture information for high level and complex decision-making in optimizing the lifespan of utility assets


Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience flow monitoring data analysis and with modeling software
  • Keeps informed, evaluates, & implements new methods and developments affecting the organization and/or clients.
  • Effectively partner with business and teams to meet objectives.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
  • Experience with GIS platforms
