What We're Looking For:
Barge Design Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager for environmental projects in the Site Solutions business unit in our Nashville, TN location. Barge's comprehensive environmental practice includes compliance, assessments, permitting, remedial design, and restoration planning and design. This person will have a minimum of 15 years of experience within an environmental focused practice and will be looking for challenges that include contributing to an innovative and quality culture, staff mentoring, resource management, and client relations and development.

Responsibilities include:
  • Business development and project management including acting as primary agent between client and projects teams developing scope of work and fee proposals, negotiating contracts, and leading client meetings & internal project meetings, and delivery of final project to client.
  • Prepares comprehensive Project Management Plans and tracks project budgets, contracts, billing, and schedules
  • Ensures internal Quality Program implementation and execution
  • Reviews project reports and findings. Makes modifications to project as needed.
  • Supports project planning and design, provides technical guidance, and resolves project problems, challenges, and obstacles
  • May function as a technical lead on projects
  • Collaborates with a team of environmental scientists and engineers and coordinates with other disciplines from both within and outside of our firm
  • Meets profitability goals in support of Barge's business and strategic plan
  • Mentors others and builds employee capabilities
  • Supports Environmental Director with resource management activities across the group, addressing training needs, and working to ensure the proper tools and processes are in place for quality and efficient execution of work

    Performs other duties as requested


Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Graduate degree in environmental science, geology, or engineering from an accredited program
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience within an environmental or solid waste focused practice as a Project Manager
  • Professional registration within current state of residency and ability for reciprocity in new resident state within six months of hire.
  • Strong teambuilding and collaboration skills
  • Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage concurrent projects and deadlines
