Are you a hard-working and dedicated planning student looking to gain valuable work experience in your field? Do you want to gain experience while learning from mentors and leaders who were once in your shoes? Barge Design Solutions is looking for someone like you to intern with us next summer.

Location: Nashville, TN

Number of positions available: 1

Schedule: Summer 2024

You will be involved in the following types of projects:
  • Policy Analysis and Development - Community planning, urban design, zoning and entitlement support in a wide variety of rural, suburban and urban settings
  • Community Engagement - Interactive exhibits, presentations and meeting planning
  • Parks and Recreation - Comprehensive systemwide master plans, park master plans, urban trails and greenways
  • Streetscape and Multi-modal Transportation - Urban and suburban, bike, pedestrian, and multi-modal integration

You will gain experience in:
  • Collaborative design within a team setting
  • Preparation of meeting exhibits and presentations
  • Possible involvement in preparation of graphic plans, images and reports
  • Supporting Planners and Landscape Architects in completing project deliverables
  • Collaborating with team members on new ideas/innovations
  • Learning and Using GIS, SketchUp, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign

Education & Experience Qualifications:
Responsibilities for this position include:
  • Must be pursuing a graduate degree in Planning or Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science or Urban Design with a planning focus, from an accredited university and preferably have a bachelor's degree in architecture, landscape architecture, engineering or similar
  • Preference will be given to students that do not require sponsorship
  • Current GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • You must be at least 18 years of age.

Additional Details:
  • This position is a paid internship working full-time hours (40) per week.
  • Position requires in-person work with some limited opportunities for remote work.
  • Interns are not eligible for company benefits.
  • Housing assistance is not provided.
