Duties & Responsibilities

As a Lead Process Piping Designer with Barge Design Solutions, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of process piping systems. Your responsibilities include:
  • Executing various assignments to develop models and documents based on outlined objectives, requirements, and innovative design approaches.
  • Ensuring accuracy and completeness of drawings by obtaining project information and incorporating it seamlessly into the designs.
  • Planning presentations for complex items with design features that may deviate from established standards, showcasing your creativity.
  • Provides seasoned recommendations for solutions to design problems.
  • Communicates with clients pertaining to specific projects and attends client meetings.
  • Reviewing and critiquing drawings to ensure the highest quality standards, offering constructive feedback to elevate team performance.
  • Mentoring less experienced designers and EITs, sharing your valuable insights and knowledge.
  • Prepares cost and quantity estimates and performs design calculations.
  • Potentially taking on the role of a project-specific lead, guiding and inspiring the design work of others.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Drafting, Surveying, Process Piping Design or a related field.
  • 6 years relevant experience as a process piping designer in the industrial and chemical process industry.
  • Experience in development of project design and creating P&IDs and piping schematics.
  • General knowledge of ASME B31.3 process piping codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software, such as AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar tools.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality design solutions.

Key Skills
  • Extensive knowledge and progressive expertise acquired through experience to resolve crucial issues and unique conditions.
  • Extensive knowledge of Auto Cad, Microstation, and other essential equipment for field and office work.
  • Provides resourcefulness and initiative to perform projects.
