What We're Looking For:
Barge is currently seeking to fill a Landscape Architect position in the Landscape Architecture and Planning (LA/P) practice area of the Site Solutions business unit. The position will be in Nashville, TN or Birmingham, AL.

The LA/P group consists of 20 Landscape Architects and Planners located across Barge's geographic footprint. Design projects are primarily located in the SE USA and include parks and recreation, urban design, housing, town centers, streetscapes, greenways, trails, educational and commercial projects. The group is dedicated and passionate about the quality and innovation of our design within the built environment.

Responsibilities for this position include:
  • Sharing your passion for Landscape Architecture within our multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Expanding firm capabilities in urban design and the master planning of multifamily, mixed use and commercial developments.
  • Leads project tasks such as product research and the production of plans and specifications, including layout plans, planting plans and design details.
  • Participates and leads critical thinking exercises during the kick-off/schematic phase of design analysis and implementation.
  • Develops and applies graphic skills beyond those currently held. Conducts analysis and development of advanced applications for existing and new software.
  • Prepares or directs the preparation of graphics, reports, exhibits and cost estimates for conceptual designs and master plans.
  • Provides support to and assists in leading the landscape architecture and planning production team.

Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university.
  • Link or attachment of portfolio is REQUIRED
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in a landscape architecture studio/professional office setting. Licensure is required to apply.
  • Self-motivated and willingness to learn and grow.
  • Strong work ethic and passion for the profession.
  • Ability to work with other design disciplines within a collaborative environment.
  • Strong graphic, design, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge in 3D modeling software, i.e., SketchUp (Lumion, Revit and Rhino are a plus).
  • Solid fundamental AutoCAD skills. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator).
  • Proficiency with LandFX and Civil3D is desired.
