Are you passionate about ecological preservation and adept at managing diverse landscapes in the Gainsville, FL area? We are seeking a dynamic Conservation Land Manager to join our team, contributing to crucial land management activities for mitigation banks, environmental projects, and various architectural and engineering ventures.

Conservation Land Manager will play a pivotal role in executing land management activities to support mitigation banks, environmental initiatives, and various projects within the architecture and engineering industry.

  • Field Operations: Execute a range of fieldwork activities, including herbicide application, mowing, mechanical removal of invasive species, earthwork, data collection, planting, and other tasks essential for achieving restoration or development goals.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous logs of all land management activities using tools like Avenza, providing regular updates to project managers.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate, and perform regular maintenance on equipment and vehicles, ensuring their optimal functionality for continued operations.
  • Heavy Machinery Operation: Safely operate heavy machinery to facilitate restoration activities as needed.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with staff to establish work priorities and schedules, ensuring efficient and effective land management operations.

Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Licensure: Possession of all necessary licensures to apply herbicide in the diverse ecosystems of Florida.
  • Ecological Expertise: In-depth knowledge of ecology specific to the southeastern US, with a keen understanding of the region's unique ecosystems.
  • Operational Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in the operation and maintenance of a range of vehicles, boats, buggies, and trailers.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in challenging field conditions, including adverse weather (rain, high winds, heat, cold, darkness), as well as potential encounters with biting insects, venomous snakes, alligators, and other wildlife.
