What We're Looking For:
The Communications Manager will have a passion for leading and mentoring a group of professionals who execute the company communications strategy. They will working closely with the marketing team, executive leadership, Human Resources, and others throughout the company to execute the company's communication strategy. This role leads department initiatives in partnership with various stakeholders, understands and promotes the company's goals, and executes high-quality content communication content for the company. This role plays a key role in driving employees' understanding and awareness of company activities, key initiatives, and culture through the use of printed and digital communication channels.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads team members and assigns daily assignments in the development and implementation of collateral to provide consistent, targeted, and impactful messages for internal and external communications.
  • Leads the implementation of marketing and communications campaigns and strategies and monitors their success.
  • Defines and reports key performance indicators (KPIs) for each communications channel to measure effectiveness.
  • Drafts messages, talking points, presentations, coaches, and interviews executives, technical experts, and employees for the purpose of creating content for the company.
  • Implements quality control procedures to ensure the team is producing high-quality materials.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, mentoring, development, and retention of staff, including performance and compensation reviews.
  • Develops and maintains an understanding of departmental and corporate goals, strategies, and culture and ensures they are integrated into engaging communication.
  • Partners with stakeholders to continuously improve services and communication strategies.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested.

Skills:
  • Ability to communicate effectively by conveying a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences, including sensitivity to audiences, and demonstrating sound judgment.
  • Effectively partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet objectives. Ability to work under deadline pressure with teams and manage production schedules, as needed.
  • Ability to effectively guide, lead, and motivate employees and provide departmental leadership to direct reports.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions guided by company strategy.
  • Direct social media (e.g., monitoring, content development, and assisting with strategy) and provide direction to staff.
  • Working knowledge of social media outlets (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) and proficiency in MS Office (Word and PowerPoint), and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign).
  • Ability to connect individual and departmental activities to higher-level strategies and goals.
  • Ability to build communication plans with content about complex technical subjects and projects that engages target audiences and enhances the company brand.


Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of corporate communications, public relations, marketing, or other relevant experience.
  • Minimum 4 years experience managing and mentoring a team of professionals is a requirement of this job.
