What We're Looking For:
Barge Design Solutions is seeking an experienced Roadway Designer who will work on complicated and challenging designs for types of projects, providing seasoned solutions to various Project Managers and Engineers. This position may also develop standards for the Solution Center and company through partnering with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops conceptual, preliminary, and final roadway designs by analyzing client requirements and applying knowledge and experience in conjunction with design standards and manuals.
  • Coordinates project design with other disciplines.
  • Prepares design computations and cost estimates.
  • Anticipates problems in construction phase and resolves them as part of the design process.
  • Communicates with clients pertaining to specific projects and attends client meetings.
  • Coordinates deliverables between clients, teaming partners, and other disciplines working on a project.
  • Provides guidance and support to junior staff.
  • Active engagement in monitoring project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Performs quality review and provides feedback on various drawings for various projects.
  • Participates as needed in project proposals.
  • Performs other duties as required.


Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Two-year degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Drafting, Surveying or equivalent with 10 years relevant experience, or other relevant combination of education and/ or experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of MicroStation and OpenRoads.
  • Knowledge of national (AASHTO), state (Georgia Department of Transportation) and local design standards and policies.
