What We're Looking For:
Barge Design Solutions is currently seeking to fill the position of Roadway Design Engineering Associate in one of our Florida offices. Open to remote locations within the state of Florida.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the design of a variety of roadway project types including urban streets, rural highways, bridge replacements, sidewalks and trails, complex interchanges, roundabouts, and intersection improvements.
  • Collaborates with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to help resolve a variety of complex problems.
  • Assists in the analysis, preparation or modification of technical reports, drawings, plans, specifications and permits for projects.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Participates in project site visits with other project team members, as needed.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail.
  • Able to learn Department of Transportation systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Able to learn standard operations, policies, and procedures of a firm, preferably within the A/E industry.
  • Performs other duties as requested.


Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited program.
  • Minumum of 2 years of roadway design engineering experience.
  • EIT Certification in respective state required.
  • Experience using MicroStation V8i is a plus. OpenRoads experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret job-related manuals and documents.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills
  • Ability to work and learn in a fast-paced collaborative team atmosphere with an established group of surveyors, engineers, scientists, and administrative staff.
